New Academic Session started at Modi College with Students Orientation Programme
Patiala: 4 August, 2023
Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a four-day orientation programme for the newly admitted students. The objective of this programme was to introduce the students to the academic traditions, ethos and academic culture of the college as well as to make them aware of them about available facilities, courses, and various departments of the college.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar inaugurated the programme and welcomed the new students in the college campus. He said that our college is committed to shape socially sensitive and intellectually capable citizens for Indian democracy. He said that the acquired knowledge should be applied for transformation and betterment of the society. He also motivated the students to excel in their careers, to equip themselves with modern age learning techniques and to think critically in their chosen streams of study.
In the first session Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean Student Welfare, Head of Punjabi Department discussed with the students the policies of Anti-Ragging Cell, Women Cell and college magazine ‘The Luminary’. He said that students should maintain decorum and should not involve in any unlawful activities. He also motivated the students to participate in different cultural activities and competitions to develop their personality and caliber.
Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Registrar of the college and Dean Life Sciences discussed with the students the time-tables and the various modes and methods of teaching adapted by the teachers in the classrooms.
Dr. Ajit Kumar, Controller of Examination discussed with the students the annual calendar, unit planning, mandatory lecture requirements, Digi-lockers and other administrative arrangements at the college.
Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Head of Chemistry Department and NSS Programme Officer discussed about significance of National Social Service, Red Ribbon Club and Buddy programme.
Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Head, Department of Management discussed with the students various UGC recognized Add-on and Certificate courses, internship trainings and Finishing School Programme at the college.
Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Department of Computer Science told the students about various SC/BC/Minority scholarship schemes and activities of General Study Circle.
Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Department of Computer Science explained different societies, clubs and wall magazines run by the college.
Dr. Nishan Singh, Dean Sports briefed about the achievements and activities of sports departments. He motivated the students to participate atlest in one sport to stay fit and healthy.
.Dr. Rohit Schdeva, Department of Computer Science discussed with the students the eligibility criteria and importance of joining NCC and Finishing School Programme. He also presented a brief report about the activities of Placement Cell of the college.
Dr.Rupinder Singh, Punjabi Department and incharge of the BSG told the students about Bharat Scouts and Guides Wing. Prof. Vinay Garg, Head, Department of Computer Science elaborated upon the informational systems of the college and its usages of LMS.
This programme was successfully conducted with support and coordination of all staff members of the colleges.
The regular classes are commencing from today i.e. August 5, 2023.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਚਾਰ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਵਾਂ, ਨੈਤਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ–ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ, ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ–ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਲਈ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਰਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਹਤਰੀ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਮ ਦਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ, ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਯੁੱਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਤੇ ਖੋਜ–ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਭਲਾਈ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਐਂਟੀ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ, ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸੈੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ‘ਦਿ ਲਿਊਮਿਨਰੀ‘ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਛਾਪਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੈਰ–ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ–ਵੱਖ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਨ ਲਾਈਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਂ–ਸਾਰਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਲਾਸਰੂਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਣਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ–ਵੱਖ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ, ਸਿਲੇਬਸ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ, ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਲੋੜਾਂ, ਡਿਜੀ–ਲਾਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਕੈਮਿਸਟਰੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫਸਰ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਐੱਨ.ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ, ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਅਤੇ ਬਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਤੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ।
ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਬਿਜ਼ਨਸ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਵੱਖ–ਵੱਖ ਯੂ.ਜੀ.ਸੀ. ਮਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਐਡ–ਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ, ਇੰਟਰਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਨਿਸ਼ਿੰਗ ਸਕੂਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ–ਵੱਖ ਐਸ.ਸੀ. / ਓ.ਬੀ.ਸੀ. / ਘੱਟ–ਗਿਣਤੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਟਡੀ ਸਰਕਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਲਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ–ਵੱਖ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ, ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਧ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਨੇ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਘੱਟੋ–ਘੱਟ ਇੱਕ ਖੇਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਅਤੇ ਫਿਨਿਸ਼ਿੰਗ ਸਕੂਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਪਦੰਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵੇਰਵਾ ਵੀ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਜੀ. ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼ ਵਿੰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਐਲ.ਐਮ.ਐਸ. ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਸੰਪੰਨ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਇਸ ਓਰੀਏਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੈਗੂਲਰ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ 5 ਅਗਸਤ, 2023 ਤੋਂ ਸਮਾਂ ਸਾਰਣੀ (ਟਾਈਮ ਟੇਬਲ) ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ।
